| Two bedroom, two bath Condo on north Padre Island. Not a high rise type. Our condo is a corner penthouse of a two story building with one adjacent neighbor. View the Laguna Madre, back of Snoopy's, Kennedy Causeway and the Packery Channel from the living room and decks. Keep your boat in the water at the dock out back (within 20 feet) or just enjoy the coastal environment. Central parking area to store your boat trailer on site. Good fishing under the lights along the bulkhead during the hot/cold periods. Handy fish cleaning station at the waters edge. Large pool shared by the residents of Puente Vista. Clean and well maintained Washers and Dryers (coin) in the central recreation/party area. Organized activities for winter Texans. |
| In December '09 the living room furniture was replaced and a flat screen HDTV added. I also added wireless internet access. Relax in one of the four leather sofa/loveseat recliners and watch the game in HDTV in the living room. In December of '06 we redid the flooring with a wood laminate in the living and dining area's, and we increased the size of the opening between the kitchen and living/dining areas to make that more pleasant to communicate through. New kitchen cabinetry, counter tops, sink, dishwasher and disposal were installed. Upgraded all of the cooking utensils and plates (includes baking), and put in a new vanity in the master. The main deck off of the living room and sliding glass doors were redone. The dining area with table and chairs seats four in chairs or more using the bench seat. Big soft King-size bed and CATV in the master bedroom that looks out to the bay. Queen-size bed (added in '07) plus bunk bed with a double and single in the front bedroom. Both bedrooms have walkout deck areas with sliding glass door access. Bed linens and bath towels included. |
| Drive to the beach at Padre Balli Park and Bob Hall Fishing Pier (see also Mustang Island State Park) in 5 minutes south via South Padre Island Dr (SPID) or Corpus Christi in 10 minutes (very convenient location) north via SPID. Port Aransas is a 30 minute drive north through the island via 361. The Padre Island National Seashore is a 20 minute drive south via P22 on Padre Island. Golf club/Padre Isles Country Club is within a couple miles. Wind surfing is a very popular sport in the Laguna Madre area (Worldwinds WindSurfing), especially during the windy months of spring. Also see the Corpus Christi Windsurfing club. Let's not forget the surfing opportunities too, as seen in these pictures taken from Bob Hall Pier. Bird watching is also a popular way to spend time in the Laguna Madre area. |
| If you are a fisherman or duck hunter and are used to having to putt through the channels this isn't like that. You access run-able water in a minute from the time you crank up in the morning at the boat dock behind the condo. Bait is available under the Causeway at several locations, my old favorite is Clem's. Since the Packery Channel has opened to the gulf, there is bait fish just waiting for your cast net in the nooks and bends. louis@austinresource.com |

Packery Channel, boat-way to the Gulf of Mexico, productive fishing you can kayak or drive to:
UPDATE: The Packery Channel provides a pass to the Gulf of Mexico between the recently constructed jetties (being re-dredged November '09). The jetty is a perfect place for fishing the Gulf of Mexico. By boat, go straight north under the small bridge and right or for larger boats travel the ICW under the JFK Causeway (see the maps below) to the Packery Channel. You are a 10 minute boat ride from the Gulf! |
